TPM Location within Technology Park Malaysia
Students might be interested to know that TPM College is actually quite unique in that it is housed on the very same grounds as Technology Park Malaysia (TPM), a leading research and commercial hub in Science and Technology. As such the advantages of actual facilities, personnel and state of the art infrastructure for commercial and research activities in biotechnology and engineering are immediately at hand. There are thus also opportunities to observe actual research and commercial projects undertaken by the various divisions of TPM.

The Biotechnology Advantage
TPM College's biotechnology twinning degree programme (with Cal Poly Pomona) has aligned itself with TPM's goal of stepping up its research and commercialization activities in this dynamic field in Malaysia, which is currently the 'hot' area being promoted heavily by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI). In April 2005, the ministry launched the National Biotechnology Policy which was attended by many international delegates. Indeed some members from TPM and TPM Academy attended the Bio 2005 biotechnology convention in Philadelphia in June. There Malaysia attracted great attention to its biotechnology potential worldwide. TPM's biotechnology labs are among the finest research labs in Malaysia and students have the opportunity to observe first hand the various activities and equipment at use, which is not always possible in teaching-only labs.

The Engineering Advantage
Students in the engineering twinning degree programme (Cal Poly Pomona) also have opportunities to attend workshops and observe sessions of commercial engineering systems at work in TPM. One of TPM's proudest achievements in engineering was to create the first 'Made in Malaysia' CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machine. Apart from this, the Engineering division of TPM also provides commercial services such as EDM (Electronic Discharge Machining), Fine Blanking, Plastic Injection Moulding, Rapid Prototyping, Mould and Die making as well as QA/QC services, to name but a few.

The IT Advantage
TPM's IT division has expertise in handling the entire networking needs of Technology Park Malaysia and it has also provided consulting on various government projects. Thus again classroom studies have the opportunity to relate to real life projects.

TPM College's Facilities
TPM College's outstanding facilities provide top level support in maintaining resources that aid and complement students' studies and recreation.

• TPM College's biotechnology laboratories are among the best that any private tertiary institution in the country can offer.
• The state-of-the-art Digital Media Centre houses computer labs with software in design, database research, network research, graphic design and engineering, supported by high-end equipment such as colour photocopy machines, plotters, drum scanners and color printers.
• Inside the Digital Media Centre is a Digital Studio for taping events storable in VHS, Beta, DVD and VCD formats and for video streaming on the internet.
• The Electronic Library has about 30,000 books plus on-line journals. There is also a conventional library.
• The Language Lab provides language training facilities
• Other facilities include: 'Teaching Factories" - hands-on labs, computer and science labs, engineering workshops, air-conditioned classrooms, indoor and outdoor cafes, a food court, a sports and recreation centre, a gymnasium and healthcare services.
